From Courtenay:
Either go all the way out on Headquarters to the stop sign and turn left (it is still Headquarters) and we are 1 km from that intersection.
From Campbell River:
Going south on the Old Island Highway turn left toward Mt. Washington from the Merville Store and go 3 km.
From the Southern Island:
Several choices driving North on Inland Island Highway from Nanaimo:
1) Exit #117 Courtenay/Comox/Cumberland – follow signs thru Courtenay turning left on Cliffe Ave (Hwy 19A). Right on 17th St over the Bridge. Left past the big Comox Bay Farm, wind around past the blue and white big box Superstore.
a) Stay in Right Lane and head North to Campbell River on Hwy 19A. 10 Km North is small community of Merville. Turn Left at Merville General Store and Esso gas station. Follow road 2 km to intersection of Headquarters Rd and keep to right heading to Mt. Washington. DO NOT TURN LEFT. We’re 1 km past the BC Telus microwave tower, just past Tyee Valley Rd on the left side. Signs are visible and 3 horizontal reflectors on the stand.
b) Turn Right at Canadian Tire and get into middle lane. Go thru traffic light past Headquarters Shell gas station on Headquarters Rd. Follow 10 Km, past the Fairgrounds and Vanier School to the end, where it has a stop sign and meets with Merville Rd. Turn Left. Follow for 1 km just past Tyee Valley Rd on Left side.
2) Exit # 127 Piercy Road/ Forbidden Plateau – Follow road thru stop sign on Condensory Rd. to Dove Creek Rd. Turn Right at big dairy farm and cross over Tsolum River Bridge (traffic light) at the end of the road by the Fairgrounds, turn Left onto Headquarters Rd. to the end, where it has a stop sign and meets with Merville Rd. Turn Left. Follow for 1 km just past Tyee Valley Rd on Left side.
3) Exit #130 Dove Creek Rd /Mt Washington – Turn Right onto Dove Creek Rd and immediately turn Left onto Farnum Rd. This parallels the new inland Island Highway 19 for a bit and then becomes a gravel road. Follow the main gravel road for 5 km over the Tsolum River Bridge. Turn Left onto Fitzgerald Rd this is a paved road. Turn Right at stop sign. This is Headquarters Rd. Up the hill on Right hand side. Watch the street numbers signs. If you pass Tyee Valley Rd and Howard Rd.
