Volunteer Opportunities

MARS provides many opportunities for volunteers to learn by doing:

Caregivers receive on-site training to provide hands-on wildlife care: rescue, treatment, feeding and, of course, cleaning. A time commitment of four hours per week is required.

There are also many opportunities to help wildlife without actually having to handle them:

Maintenance: We are always in need of tradespeople: construction workers, plumbers, electricians, carpenters etc. to complete maintenance on equipment, gardening and landscaping, repair of existing buildings and new project construction and management (varying levels of experience are required).

As a non-profit society, MARS is dependent on donations and fundraising efforts. We host booths at many community events and require personable, outgoing Volunteers to help sell MARS Raffle Tickets and provide information to the public.

Board of Directors: We are looking for folks interested in on-going committee work or serving a two year term on our Board of Directors. These positions are the foundation that helps to shape the course of our Society. Board and committee work, including event planning and fundraising, provide an excellent introduction to management, look great on a resume and offer many opportunities to network in the community. There are also literary opportunities for writing grant proposals, press releases, etc.

If you have some time to give or expertise to share, MARS might be the perfect place to start.

Membership is required: $15/individual or $25/family
(for health reasons, on-site Volunteers must be 18 years old)
